Quality Early Childhood Education with Pre-K Counts
Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts provides state-funded, high-quality preschool to families who are eligible based on household income. The program offers families in participating communities a choice of quality pre-kindergarten options, including programs located in public schools, child care centers, Head Start agencies, and nursery schools.
Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts is based on quality standards adopted by the State Board of Education and is designed to increase access to high-quality pre-kindergarten for children and families across the Commonwealth, with priority given to at-risk communities. The program also builds on the work of the Pre-K Counts Public-Private Partnership for Educational Success, a three-year initiative funded by leading Pennsylvania foundations and supported by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
