creative curriculum

High-quality early education helps prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. At LifeSpan School and Day Care, we support each child’s social, emotional, and academic growth through play-based learning that builds confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Our educators create weekly, theme-based lessons aligned with the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards using The Creative Curriculum, a research-based framework designed to meet the needs of children and families.

infants and toddlers

Our Infant and Toddler Program is rooted in research-based practices that support the whole child. Learning is fostered through responsive caregiving, play-based experiences, and meaningful daily interactions that promote early language, curiosity, and problem-solving skills.

Children explore their environment through age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities that build physical development, coordination, and confidence. Daily routines encourage growing independence as children participate in care activities at their own pace.

Ongoing observation and assessment guide individualized learning experiences. Progress is documented through daily observations, age-aligned developmental checklists, and individual portfolios.

Families stay informed through regular Procare updates, parent conferences, and daily communication at drop-off and pick-up.

preschool

The preschool years (ages 3–5) are a critical time for growth, as children build independence, self-control, and social skills while exploring the world around them. During this stage, preschoolers expand their language skills, express ideas more clearly, and gain confidence through hands-on learning and interaction.

The Creative Curriculum for Preschool provides a developmentally appropriate framework that encourages exploration across interest areas such as blocks, dramatic play, math, art, science, music and movement, and outdoor learning. Teachers guide discovery, support curiosity, and foster deeper learning through engaging, theme-based activities.
