Located on a scenic campus near Route 309 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, LifeSpan School & Day Care provides quality child care and early education for children from birth through kindergarten.
Our renovated facility features two playgrounds, an outdoor science lab, and the Irene Bertha Hiser Children’s Garden, where children p ant and explore nature. Wildlife sightings and hands-on activities enrich learning and curiosity.
Open 6 AM–6 PM, our highly trained educators offer purposeful, development-focused experiences. Our Private Academic Kindergarten prepares children for first grade, and our Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts program, in partnership with United Way of Bucks County, provides free preschool for qualifying families. LifeSpan holds STAR 4 recognition from prepares children for first grade, and our Pennsylvania Keystone STARS.

Nicole Fetherman
Nicole Fetherman holds a Master’s degree in Education from Cedar Crest College and shares over 30 years experience in non profit leadership and early care and education. She has served as Executive Director for LifeSpan since 2011. Prior to this position, she worked in New Jersey public schools, as an adjunct professor for multiple colleges and universities, a consultant for state quality initiatives, and has been a national presenter. Nicole is a strong advocate for children and families at the state level and serves on several statewide professional ECE committees.

Heather Engle
Heather Engle is an early childhood professional with a lifelong passion for working with young children. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood specialization from Eastern University (2010), along with PK–4 certification and a Director’s Credential. She has been with LifeSpan since 2011 and expanded into administrative roles in 2017, where she supports children, families, and educators. She lives in Quakertown with her husband and dogs, and is a proud aunt who never misses a chance to spoil her nieces and nephews. Working with young children is deeply fulfilling, as their curiosity, energy, and rapid development bring purpose and excitement to each day. Supporting children, families, and educators is truly the heart of her work.

Katie Pursell
Katie Pursell is the Assistant Director at the Quakertown location. She graduated from Kutztown University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and holds a PA Professional Certification for infants through sixth grade. In 2023, she completed her Director’s Credential through Keystone College. Prior to joining LifeSpan, Katie worked with many families as a classroom educator and served as a Program Director for various children’s summer programs. At LifeSpan, she looks forward to partnering with families and supporting each child’s growth across all areas of development.

Jenny Schumacher
Jenny has been a member of the administrative team since 2020. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Millersville University, with a strong focus on child development, family dynamics, and childhood disorders. Jenny has worked with children since 2011 and has experience supporting children with autism, ADHD/ADD, and behavioral challenges. She is deeply passionate about advocating for children, supporting families, and creating an environment where open communication, trust, and connection help every child thrive. She is also a proud mom to daughters Riley and Charlie.

Hunter Chadeayne
Hunter Chadeayne is a 2005 graduate of Phillipsburg High School. He continued his education at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with a concentration in Music Education. Hunter has been working with young children at LifeSpan since 2011. As our Music, Spanish, and Sign Language teacher, he travels to all of our Daycare and Pre-K Counts programs in Bucks, Montgomery, and Lehigh counties, teaching over 300 children a week. In his free time, Hunter has performed regionally in the tri-state area in shows, concerts, cabarets, and recitals.

Craig Kunsman
Mr. Craig has been in the early education field since 2001 and has been with Lifespan since 2022. Prior to Lifespan he was a director of a school in the Lehigh Valley where he worked for 16 years. He works with the Federal Food Program, Farm to School, and help where needed, especially with the School Age Program. He loves bringing fun activities to the school and in the summer making fun food with the children. In his free time, he loves cooking, spending time with family and his two dogs, game nights, caring for plants and gardening, and traveling.
